Erlene Love affectionately known as “Puddin” was born June 17th, 1931, in Forest Home, Alabama to Clemon and Annie Bell Banks. She was one of 17 children. Being raised in the south is where Erlene learned the values of southern hospitality, love and kindness- qualities that made others love and respect her. Erlene migrated to Cleveland, Ohio in the early 1950’s. She worked at The Auditorium Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio where she met the love of her life for over 60 years, Ernest Love Jr. Over the years together they raised 5 daughters. Erlene was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who always put the needs of her family before her own. Erlene was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses February of 1972. Erlene truly loved her God Jehovah, and truly believed in his wonderful promises. Over the years, her children, one by one decided to dedicate their lives to Jehovah due to her wonderful example. She was truly the definition of a capable wife. From her wonderful example as a Christian wife, her Husband decided to dedicate his life to Jehovah in August of 2019. Erlene truly loved being the matriarch of her family. She raised her daughters with so much love and affection. She truly made their house a home. Everyone love being around Erlene because she was just so sweet and accommodating to everyone. Erlene saw her grandchildren as her greatest treasure. She always prayed for them and instilled the importance of hard work and being good to all you meet. The love she showed her grandchildren was special. She was a shining light in our lives and we will always remember her warmth, kindness and love. On December 17th, 2022, our dear Erlene Love peacefully fell asleep in death at the age of 91. Although the pain of losing her is unexplainable, we know that she is in the safest place she could be, Jehovah’s memory. She will deeply be missed, not only by her family but by all who knew her. Erlene was proceeded in death by her parents Clemon and Annie Bell Banks. Daughters: Debbie Love, Theressa Williams and Laurita Love.
