Mary Shetina

Mary A. (Gavelda) Shetina age 95, passed away on June 13, 2024. Loving wife of the late John M. Shetina. Devoted mother of Veronica M. (Phillip) Bickel of Painesville, Ohio and Mary Jo Werner of Painesville, Ohio.  Cherished grandmother of Melanie (Mike) Katona,  Kimberly (Matt) Azzano, Lisa (Gary) Hampton, Scott Bickel and John (Kelly) Kohr.  She was a great-grandmother of 26.  She is also survived by her dear sister Margaret Cardina.  

Mary was preceded in death by her parents James and Veronica Gavelda, brothers John and James Gavelda and granddaughter Tiffany M. Tompkins. 

Mary was a member of St. Mary's Church in Painesville where she enjoyed singing in the choir.  She also enjoyed reading.  Mary was employed for many years at Thall's shoe store in Fairport. 

Mary's family would like to thank the staff at the Kirtland Rehab Memory Care unit for their loving care.
