Rebecca J Palac

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rebecca J. Kendall Palac, the most kind and loving mom, wife, sister, and friend, on October 9, 2023 at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born in Warren, Ohio on November 3, 1951 and had a happy childhood with her parents, Nell and Fred, and sister, Lisa. In 1971 She married Stephen Palac, with whom she had two children, Mark and Rachel. They divorced and in 1981 she and her children moved to CA. Her parents joined them in 1983 and Becky spent the next 25 years raising her children and caring for the elderly. Becky always had an extra meal to share, an open heart to stop and listen, and a genuine interest in all who crossed her path. In late 2003, she met Tony Cooper with whom she would spend the next 19 years enjoying much joy and contentment. With Tony she moved to Florida and later, in 2022, she and Tony, along with her best friend Steve Berg, finally returned to her beloved Ohio. Her dear friends and spiritual community welcomed her home with open arms. Last week just before surgery, Becky said "I want for nothing, I have complete peace'. We will try and hold onto this as we miss her so very much. A woman who gave until it hurt, cared for seniors for decades and then senior dogs in her later years. Someone who appreciated all of the small moments from a good cup of coffee to playing with her sweet dogs and enjoying all animals, especially otters. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and instilled in them a belief that they could do anything. She is survived by her husband Tony Cooper, her children Mark (Kelly) and Rachel (Sam), her sister Lisa (Doug), her best friend Steve, and her grandchildren, Kendall and Shane.

A memorial will be held at the Cortland Kingdom Hall on Wednesday, October 25, at 3pm.
